•  Develop and apply an undertanding of Pilates history, philosophies and principles

•  Plan and deliver Pilates reformer exercise sessions: Beginner

•  Professionally cue Pilates exercises verbally, visual imagery and tacile cues in a safe and respectful manner

•  Plan and Deliver Pilates Reformer exercise sessions: Intermediate

•  Plan and Deliver Pilates Reformer exercise sessions: Advanced

• Develop and instruct personalised exercise programs for older clients

• Develop and instruct personalised exercise programs for prenatal and postnatal

• Use Anatomy and Physiology knowledge to support safe and effective exercise

Your Assessments

Each participant needs to conduct two presentations.

One will be conducted face to face during class hours, and the other will be submitted as a recording. Outlined below are all of the assessments throughout the course.

Task 1 Complete Knowledge questions within 4 weeks of start of face to face content. Knowledge questions are scattered throughout the course.

Task 2 Plan a 15-minute Group Pilates Reformer Class (2.9)

  1. Deliver the presentation to the class on the last day of the Face to Face content.
  2. Write a 300-word reflection on the presentation.
  3. Submit the plan and the reflection within 2 weeks of the delivery. 

Task 3 deliver a 20 minute Reformer Class (private or group): (4.6)

  1. Plan a 20-minute presentation.
  2. Deliver the presentation and record this for upload submission e.g. via an unlisted YouTube link 
  3. Write a 300-word reflection on the presentation.
  4. Submit the plan, recording of the presentation and reflection within four weeks of the last day of the face-to-face session.

Task 4. Create a Client Information form that details clients needs, goals and contraindications in the context of a Pilates setting (2.5)

Task 5. Conduct initial client assessments to determine fitness levels, goals, and any contraindications (2.6):

  1. Conduct an initial client assessment using the included initial consultation form checking off boxes and filling in goals and contraindications
  2. Get client to perform a range of exercises that test flexibility, strength, and co-ordination
  3. Write a program for this client.
  4. Test the program on this client.
  5. Gain feedback from this client.
  6. Submit the client assessment, program, and feedback from the client within 4 weeks from the last date of the face-to-face delivery.

Task 6 Postural Analysis (2.61):

  1. Using the postural Analysis checklist, assess a person (can be someone in the course)
  2. Write a program specifically for this person.
  3. Teach this person their program.
  4. Ask this person for feedback.
  5. Reflect on their feedback.
  6. Submit analysis, program, feedback, and reflection (due 4 weeks from final face-to-face session)
